Did your city "make the grade"? Good article, click to read!

Hello students!  Check out this article.  Would love to get your thoughts on this?  Would you try one?  We’d be happy to review it if someone wants to send us a bottle.  Don’t think this one is going to make it to TN.

This evening 12th south taproom had a cask of old chub by the fine folks at oskar blues. I’ve got to tell you this is how this beer was meant to be enjoyed! It’s a Scottish style ale and the cask brings out the malty sweetness that you don’t quite get from the can, which is how this beer is sold at retail. I was very fortunate to be one of the 80 folks who got a pint tonight at 12th south in Nashville. — old chub (from the cask) A- Brian

Well, we made it to Nashvilles mother ship on Saturday, Yazoo Brewing. They’re in a new location now at 910 Division street (gulch area) and we must say the new facility is fantastic. The only (very slight) complaint is that we wish there was a bigger outdoor seating area.
If you’ve never been to the tap room you must go. The beer just tastes better straight from the source! We each had a pint of the hop project, #28 we think. It’s such a good beer for all those hop heads out there. So much bite and a great citrus rind zest at the finish. Josh continued with a second HP while Brian opted for the Pale Ale which still has a wondeful hop flavorful but is nothing compared to the monster that is Hop Project.
Yazoo doesn’t do bad beer and it’s available just about anywhere you can buy beer in Nashville and several other surrounding cities.
Do yourself a favor and check out the new Yazoo tap room!

Rocky Mountain IPA from the Fort Collins Brewery. First time trying this one…delicious! It reminds me of the Dogfish Head 60 Minute IPA. Balanced perfectly. Tons of hops yet still a sweetness. Really tasty. There’s a place down on Nolensville Pike in Nashville (near Lenox Village) calle Ray’s Cigars and Brews that sells the stuff. Ray’s has a ton of variety…a great place to try a new 6-pack. Plus, they offer a make-your-own 6-pack options for $11.99. You can mix and match anything in their fridge.

I’m giving the Rocky Mountain IPA a solid ‘A’…great beer! - Josh

New Belgium (fat tire, 1554, etc) brings us their brand new IPA! It’s definitely their most hoptastic beer ever offered. A good IPA offers that hoppy bite along with a citrus (rind) flavor. The New Belgium Ranger IPA is a good balance of both of these flavors. We give this one a very solid B+

The sampler at Trailhead Brewery in St. Louis, MO! Decent brews. One complaint, they don’t regularly brew a pale ale, but the brewer told me that an APA is their seasonal! Coming in April. Check these guys out. —Brian
